  Field Facilities Digital Data Collection Project 10 - 17 June 2007

  Field Facilities Digital Data Collection Project is a step in GIS data automation by deployment of DGPS/GIS data collection devices & procedure at DEWA project construction sites for collection and management of field data accurately to +/- 50Cm pertaining to DEWA Service Network facilities.

  The objective is to establish procedure at Construction Field Works merged within project supervision a method of GIS data collection by mapping infrastructure construction progress (“As laid/Under construction” Status) in near or real time. Updating in near real time in GIS is achieved using data collection device (DGPS) in project field. This replaces Paper drawings used for mark up of site measurement and recording facility deviations in project scope at site. In line with that there was training held at DEWA office by Trimble from (10 -17 June 2007) to train DEWA staff on the usage of the devices.
